Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of LyricMyLife(the “Service”), operated by Michelle Alexander. By creating an account, submitting a story, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Account Use

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service, and you are responsible for the accuracy of any information you provide when creating an account, and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and any activity that occurs under your account.LyricMyLife is a general-audience service; it is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly permit account creation by anyone below the age required by applicable law to consent to these Terms.

2. Your Stories & Submitted Content

You are solely responsible for the stories, names, memories, and other information you submit (“Submitted Content”). You represent that you have the right to submit it and that doing so does not violate any law or the rights of any third party. Submitting content does not transfer ownership of it to us; you retain whatever rights you already had in it. By submitting content, you grant LyricMyLife a license to use, store, process, and transmit it — including to third-party AI providers — solely as necessary to generate, store, and deliver your lyrics and songs and otherwise operate the Service.

3. Stories About Other People

Many songs on LyricMyLife are about someone other than the person creating them — a spouse, child, parent, friend, coworker, wedding party, or memorial subject, among others. If you submit a story or details about another identifiable person, you are responsible for having any necessary rights or permission to do so, and for using and sharing the resulting song lawfully and respectfully of that person’s privacy, publicity, and other rights. Do not submit content that discloses another person’s private, sensitive, or embarrassing information without their consent, and do not use the Service to harass, defame, impersonate, or infringe the rights of anyone.

4. AI-Generated Lyrics & Music

Lyrics and audio produced by LyricMyLife are generated using third-party generative AI systems and are inherently unpredictable. Generated content may contain errors, may not accurately reflect the story you submitted, and — because generative AI models draw on patterns learned from large training datasets — may resemble content generated for other users or that already exists elsewhere. We do not guarantee that any generated lyrics or song will be original, unique, free of similarity to other works, or free of factual or creative errors. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on, sharing, or using it, and the Service’s lyrics-editing feature exists precisely so you can review and revise output before proceeding.

5. Ownership of Generated Content

We do not promise or guarantee that any particular output of the Service is protectable by copyright, or that you hold exclusive rights to it — whether AI-generated lyrics or music are copyrightable, and who may hold what rights in them, depends on applicable law (which is still evolving on this question) and on the terms of the third-party AI providers used to generate that content. Subject to those limits, applicable law, and the third-party provider terms referenced in Section 6, and subject to our own rights and the rights of third parties (including anyone the song is about, see Section 3), we do not claim ownership of the lyrics or audio generated from your submissions, and you may use them for your own personal, non-commercial purposes — including ordinary uses the Service itself is built around, such as sharing a song with the people it’s about or with friends and family, using the Service’s public-sharing feature, and posting it through your normal personal use of social media. This does not include commercial use, and none of this is a promise that the output is copyrightable, that you hold exclusive rights to it, or of any right beyond what applicable law and the third-party provider terms in Section 6 actually allow. We make no representation that a generated song is exclusive to you or that a substantially similar song has not been, or will not be, generated for someone else.

6. Third-Party AI & Music Providers

LyricMyLife relies on third-party AI providers to generate lyrics and music, and on third-party infrastructure to store and deliver audio. Those providers operate under their own terms of service and their own service-level commitments, which we do not control. Any rights a provider grants in the output it generates are governed by that provider’s own terms, and we do not expand those rights merely by making the output available to you through LyricMyLife. These providers’ availability, output quality, and response times can change or be interrupted without notice, which may delay or prevent lyric or audio generation.

7. Public Sharing

You choose when a song is shared publicly. A song made available at a public share link may be viewed by anyone who has or discovers that link, whether or not they were the intended recipient — do not include information in a story or song you do not want potentially seen by someone other than the person you intend to share it with. Where the Service provides a way to stop sharing a song, doing so removes it from active use in the app going forward, but we do not promise permanent deletion, removal from search engines or caches, or that a link already shared or saved by someone else can be revoked from their possession.

8. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• submit or generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or infringing;
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
• violate the privacy, publicity, or intellectual-property rights of any person;
• upload malicious code, or attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
• use the Service to generate content involving a minor in a sexual, exploitative, or otherwise unlawful manner; or
• circumvent any rate limit, security control, or access restriction of the Service.

9. Service Availability & Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including specific features, music providers, or generation limits — at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any unavailability or change, including one caused by a third-party AI or infrastructure provider outside our control.

10. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, including for suspected violation of these Terms, misuse, or abuse. You may stop using the Service at any time.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL GENERATED CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, ORIGINAL, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MICHELLE ALEXANDER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Michelle Alexander harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your Submitted Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any third party’s rights.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and treat the update as a new required version. If you have an account, you may be asked to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use authenticated features — accepting an earlier version does not constitute acceptance of a later one; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle your acceptance history.
